Professsor Anatoliy Loytra: a man committed to Cuban medical education

ABSTRACT
Background: it is enriching for the Cuban academic community of the medical sciences, to know about the life and work of personalities from other latitudes who, in different moments, made important contributions to the scientific development in the area of the morphological sciences.Objective: to divulge the life and work of Professor Anatoliy Loytray, as a paradigm of the morphological sciences and the medical education.
Methods: a descriptive research work was carried out with a qualitative approach at Villa Clara University of Medical Sciences, in 2016, from a historical-logical perspective, whose object is the personality of Anatoliy Loytray and the incidence of his professional work in the Cuban medical sciences. Theoretical methods were used: analysis-synthesis, inductiondeduction and historical-logical and among the empirical ones: the observation and the survey in the form of interview to key informants, the conversations directed to the obtaining of tangible testimonies of biographical character and the collaboration of the professor.
Results: a systematized characterization was achieved on the trajectory of this personality of the morphological sciences, which had an important participation in the development of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in this area of knowledge, due to its prominent participation in the conformation of the Anatomical museum of the mentioned university.
Conclusions: the figure of Professor Anatoliy Loytray is an example to be followed by the new generations of professors and researchers of the medical sciences.
