Mobbing syndrome in medical specialists in a second level hospital in Mexico

ABSTRACT
The syndrome of mobbing is a problem that arises in the workplace and means violence, harassment or psychological abuse. The general objective is to know the frequency of the syndrome of mobbing in medical specialists. An observational, descriptive, transversal, prospective, single centre study was conducted in physicians of a Pediatrics Hospital with family medicine (HGP/MF) Nº 31 of the IMSS in Mexicali B. C. The data collection was performed through the inventory of psychological harassment and violence at work IVAPT-PANDO. Surveyed 77 physicians, 42 women (54.5%) and 35 men (45.5%); 41 pediatricians (53.2%), 17 Gynecologists (22.1%), 16 Anesthesiologists (20.8%) and 3 doctors of the work (3.9%). It was determined that there is the presence of high psychological violence in 31 participants (40.3%) and average in 23 participants (29.9%). With respect to intensity, was medium in 10 respondents (12.9%) and high in 4 (5.19%). Psychological harassment was determined in 8 doctors (10.38%).
