ABSTRACT
Objective: To describe the importance of antibiotic therapy in the preoperational prophylaxis of surgery infections.Development: A review and analysis about general principles of preoperational anti germ prophylaxis addresses to description of indications and to the principles for its use, as well as the main criterions delivered related to with the selection and evaluation in different surgical procedures. Several authors report that the right and balanced use of the preoperational antibiotic therapy is a basic item the well medical practice and its preventive criterion plays an important role in surgical area. The regulations of anti germ prophylaxis are established according to the type of surgery. The selection for the use of the drug must be based on the local data of the germ and the sensitivity characteristics of the common germ.
Conclusions: The application of a correct anti germ surgery prophylaxis minimizes the rate of postoperative sepsis, the admission time and the price for admission, as well as less number of microbiological studies to develop and minimize the risk.of germ resistance and crossed infections.
