ABSTRACT
The varicocele alters the fertility, in many occasions to this entity is not given enough importance. Same situation that takes us to analyze the experience of our service in the treatment of this pathology. The study is carried out of January from 2000 to December of 2003. With a total of 263 patients, the inclusion approaches were applied discarding 201 patients. Of the 62 patients they consulted but frequently for pain testicular than for infertility and to value the same one they took into account the density of the semen, motility and agreement morphology with the approaches of the WHO. Improvement was obtained in the results of the seminal parameters in the postoperative one to six months of pursuit and the difficulty is evidenced to give continuity to the postoperative surveillance of our patients. We think about strategies to increase the importance of the diagnosis of the varicocele and suggested to standardize the methodology of the analysis of semen for the laboratories that they carry out the same ones.
