ABSTRACT
Introduction. Testis cancer is the most common cancer among 15-35 years. Chemotherapy decrease mortality. Non seminomatous with teratoma constitute 55-80% and pure teratoma 2-5% of all. Treatment in advance stage is established but exists controversy in I.
Objective. To know the survival in non seminomatous germ cells carcinoma with teratoma. Association between percentage of teratoma in testis cancer with recurrence, progression or death by stage and treatment.
Material and method. Descriptive study, open, observational, ambispective. We include all non seminomatous testis cancer with teratoma treated since 1989-2003. We analize multiple variable. Used descriptive statistics and survival analysis by Kaplan Meier, Long-rank and Cox. A p = ≤ 0.05 was significant.
Results. Fourty seven patients. Average age 25 years, seven with criptorquidia. Seven pure teratoma. 26 in stage I without recurrence. Twenty one in II or more. Eleven death, one in IB and 10 in IIA or greater. Advances stages, therapeutics chemotherapy and second line have more mortality (p = ‹ 0.05).
Conclusions. Stage I can be continued with stric survillance. Advance stages have high risk of death.
