ABSTRACT
Introduction. Radical prostatectomy is the chosen treatment in those prostate cancer in begining stages and with posibilities of being cured. Since the inclusion of the PSA (prostatic specific antigen) in the urologist diagnosis arsenal, the posibilities of getting diagnosis in earlier stages has increased considerably.
Material and methods. We have the experience of radical prostatectomy in 38 patients operated in the last six years in a small 100 beds province hospital where patients where elegible to obtain the services from the institution, converge from all over state of Sonora.
Conclusions. The results, complications and follow-up of the patients are analyzed here. Its about a preliminary report due to the fact that most of the patients who were operated have not covered the sufficient length of time of five years to consider survival.
