ABSTRACT
Off-pump coronary artery bypass surgery, compared to the use of cardiopulmonary bypass is associated with a reduced incidence of complications. These are cause of increased morbidity and mortality, which avoid a quick return to a normal way of life. Recently a robotic surgical system has been developed to improve the surgeon’s capability to take the two internal mammary arteries through the left thoracic cavity with only three ports. Srivastava et al. coined the term «ThoraCAB» for complete revascularization through left lateral thoracotomy without cardiopulmonary bypass, obtaining the internal mammary artery robot assisted. We describe the first two anesthetic approaches for coronary artery bypass off-pump minimally invasive robot-assisted in Mexico at the Centro Médico Nacional 20 de noviembre, ISSSTE.
