ABSTRACT
The anesthesia monitor automates the electroencephalogram analysis during a surgical procedure to help the anesthesiologists to assess the patient’s depth of anesthesia to individualize the anesthetic dose. It has been proved that the use of anesthesia monitors reduce up to 32% the drug consumption and the intraoperative awareness incidence. It minimize the emergence time, to allow a rapid neurological assessment if necessary. It has also been proved that it reduces 8.5% the presence of delirium and if produces less cognitive impairment.
