Protocolo de tratamiento para la cefalea postpunción de duramadre

RESUMEN

La cefalea postpunción de duramadre es una complicación común posterior a una punción tanto advertida como inadvertida de duramadre llegando a porcentajes mayores al 60% en algunos pacientes; además de ser en Estados Unidos la tercera causa de litigio por complicaciones en pacientes obstétricas. Se realizó una revisión de todo lo publicado hasta mayo de 2015 en búsqueda de factores que pudieran modificar la incidencia de cefalea postpunción, además de evidenciar la eficacia de diversos tratamientos profilácticos, conservadores e intervencionistas. El objetivo de contar con un protocolo en el manejo de la cefalea postpunción de duramadre es homogenizar con evidencia científica las medidas terapéuticas logrando establecer un algoritmo dinámico que sirva como guía no solamente a expertos en el tema (anestesiólogos, neurólogos), sino a todo personal médico para un pronto diagnóstico y tratamiento.
