ABSTRACT
Late clampingis a technique described over 200 years ago, which is to delay clamping to the minute or three in
all pregnancies and in any gestational age, with some contraindications, this is part of protocol of the newborn, whit
many advantages: greater hemodynamic stability (increasing the total volume), low errate of anemia in the first six
months, less need for transfusion, decrease in neonatal morbidity like: interventricular hemorrhage, necrotizing enterocolitis,
and sepsis.
