ABSTRACT
The patellar tendinopathy
involves structural changes
and symptoms. Athletes
who play sports that involve
jumping repeatedly, perform a
continuous load on the extensor
mechanism of the knee, mainly
on the tendons, so it is believed
that the cause of tendonitis is
functional overload. Pain can be
acute, intermittent, diffuse, or
all of them. In the early stages,
it decreases relative rest. They
have been identified as factors
inherent lack of flexibility of
the hamstrings and quadriceps;
and other factors that have
been related as males, increased
weight training, increased body,
mass varus or valgus knee high
or low patella patella, lower
limb discrepancy. The diagnosis
based on clinical history
and physical examination,
ultrasound and MRI. Initial
treatment to be followed is the
rest of the tendon, together with
physiotherapy and the use of
therapeutic ultrasound, shock
waves, injections of plateletrich
plasma; and not even
improve surgical treatment.
