ABSTRACT
Objectives: The objectives of the work were to characterize the preparation of the family to face the boy’s rehabilitation with neurological lesion and to propose an orientation strategy. Material and method: the study of 22 children was made assisted in the Logopedia Service of the CIREN and their accompanying relatives. A general interview was carried out to evaluate the characteristics of the family in connection with the boy’s deficiency; the observation and survey to determine the relationship family-boy during the treatment stage, as well as the relationship of the family toward the affected areas and the logopedic exploration during which the pathology of the communication was investigated. Results: The sample was located in six categories according to the attitude toward the boy’s problem, valuing the interest of the relatives for the rehabilitation of the different affected areas. They were derived the necessities of the multifactor team in function of the early family orientation and their pursuit. We recommend an action strategy for the orientation to the family. Conclusions: The orientation to the family is part of the strategy of the multifactor team in the early attention of the minor with neurological lesions. The specialist needs to know the particularities of the family to guide it appropriately in connection with the therapeutic objectives of each stage.REFERENCES
