ABSTRACT
The case of a 39 years old male with ataxia, sysartria and micturition anomalies of three years ov evolution is discussed. The neurological examination showed pyramidal, cerebellar and parkinsonian signs. Hypointensity of the lenticular nucleus was found; there was hypoperfussion of basal ganglia and thalamus in SPECT. It is dicussed the disease which is classified in three types depnding on the predominant lesion: olllivopontocerebellar, dysautonomic and striatonigral types. Pathophysiology, clinical features and therapeutic options are discussed.
