ABSTRACT
Medications that are associated with gingival enlargement can be divided into three categories: anticonvulsants, calcium channel blockers and immunosuppressants. Several risk factors can be currently recognized in the oral cavity that may precipitate gingival enlargement in response to gene expression and altered cellular mechanisms, where microbial biofilm can be a reservoir of precursor molecules.
