RESUMEN
Los medicamentos que están asociados con agrandamientos gingivales se pueden dividir en tres categorías: los anticonvulsivos, los bloqueadores de los canales calcio e inmunosupresores. Actualmente pueden ser reconocidos varios factores de riesgo en la misma cavidad oral que pueden precipitar un agrandamiento gingival como respuesta ante la expresión de genes y la alteración en los mecanismos celulares, donde el biofilm microbiano puede ser un reservorio de moléculas precursoras.
