ABSTRACT
We report the case of a patient with weakness, fatigue, anxiety; a history
of kidney stones that required nephrectomy; he also had recurrent urinary
tract infections and referred prior pancreatitis. Patient assisted to the
medical service for recurrent infections, therefore study protocol began
to rule out underlying diseases, being among the most common kidney
stones that the patient had and nephrocalcinosis, so study was initiated
to rule out primary hyperparathyroidism although hypercalcemia was
not found, patient had always a normocalcemic course, finding high
levels of parathyroid hormone and normal vitamin D levels, discarding
other causes of secondary hyperparathyroidism.
