ABSTRACT
Objective: to determine the utility of the treatment with average Kotz and magnetic fields in patient with metabolic syndrome.
Method: a cuasiexperimental study in 30 patients with the clinical diagnosis and of laboratory of metabolic syndrome coming from the consultation of Internal Medicine, at the university hospitals: "Dr. Carlos J. Finlay" and "Dr. Luis Díaz Soto". The patients only talked to magnetic bed in abdomen to 20Hz and average Kotz two circuits at the same time in the rectums abdominal 15 min each one in 30 treatment sessions. Before and after the treatment he/she was carried out physical exam (do I weigh, does it carve, the abdominal circumference and arterial tension), and were they indicated complementary (glycemia, cholesterol, triglycerides and uric acid). The quantitative prosecution (half arithmetic, medium, variance and
standard deviation) and qualitative (frequency and percentage), was
Chi-square used and does t prove? 0,05 and
Odds Ratio.
Results: after the treatment the 86,7% of the patients had figures of arterial tension, it diminished the weight in 4,48 kg, the circumference abdominal 9,3cm,
the index of corporal mass 1,6 Kg/m
2, the glycemia 1,11 mmol/L, the cholesterol 1,32 mmol/L, the triglycerides 0,58 mmol/L and the acid uric 49,64 mmol/L being statistically significant.
Conclusions: the magnetic therapy and the average Kotz went useful when diminishing or to normalize in most of the patients the arterial tension, the weight, the index of corporal mass and the abdominal circumference, also diminished or it normalized the laboratory variables in single 30 treatment sessions.
