ABSTRACT
Tobacco is one of the greatest public health
threats the world has ever faced. Currently, the
annual death toll is approximately 6 million
people. It is also the leading preventable cause of
mortality, and those individuals who quit smoking
are less likely to develop, and potentially die
due to tobacco related illnesses. The advances in
clinical experience and scientific investigation in
the field of tobacco consumption, make it possible
that today, based on evidence, excellent
treatment methods and strategies are readily
available for those who wish to quit smoking.
