ABSTRACT
The complications related airway management pediatric are frequent. A better knowledge of valuations and predictors of difficult airway will allow us to reduce risks and morbidity in the management of the airway in the pediatric population. Material and methods: We included patients from 5 to 18 years undergoing surgery with predictors of difficult airway, involving approach to airway. It was the measurement of the degree of mobility of the joint during the pre anesthetic assessment and the assessment atlanto-occipital was conducted during intubation. Once these results the association between these measurements was conducted and its determinant as predictor of difficult airway. Results: We included 18 patients. All minimum with a predictor of difficult airway. The association of the degree of mobility atlanto-occipital rating and valuation Cormack-Lehane determined as predictor of normal airway to seven patients (38.9%), of potentially difficult airway six patients (33.3%) and difficult airway five patients (27.8%). Statistically significant results. Conclusions: If you found useful the association of these assessments to predict one difficult airway in the pediatric patient.REFERENCES
