ABSTRACT
Antioxidants are essential substances that protect the cells against instable molecules known as free radicals. Antioxidants may interact with these substances preventing cell oxidation. During the lasts years the interest on this substances has increased, especially on the human gametes. It is already known that male infertility is related to DNA damage and one of the causes of this damage is the oxidative stress. The aim of this paper is to review the oxidative and antioxidant system and its relation with the male factor infertility.
