ABSTRACT
Since we began walking, we define our column curves; these show some variations during growth; we know that spine-pelvic parameters are modified during development, presenting a positive balance at the beginning of our life that becomes negative in adolescence and then in adulthood again is positive. In the immature spine, deformities in the coronal plane are well compensated by changes in the column itself in the sagittal plane holding the balance. By contrast, adult degenerative scoliotic deformities produce a flattening of the lumbar lordosis and a positive balance (anterior drive the body) due to the stiffness of the spine, compensates with extra-spinal structures to maintain balance.REFERENCES
