ABSTRACT
The treatment of pulmonary embolism with the presence of a mobile thrombus or in transit through the right heart is not standardized. The presence of a thrombus in transit is a rare condition that carries a high mortality rate. Thrombolytic therapy or percutaneous and surgical embolectomy are the treatments that have been accepted. This case shows the success of surgical embolectomy.
