ABSTRACT
The usefulness of ultrasound in thorax pathology is shown. It is an accessible and inexpensive diagnostic tool which can be transported to the patient’s bedside in critically ill patients. It identifies the difference between liquid and solid and is useful to detect chest wall lesions, soft tissues and pleura. It is also helpful in some interventionist procedures for diagnosis and treatment.
