ABSTRACT
Calcific uremic arteriopathy, previously called calciphylaxis, is an entity characterized by the presence of ischemic
necrosis areas with extensive calcifying in the dermoepidermal cystic medial arterioles. It has a presentation related to
patients with kidney disease on dialysis or transplant patients with dysfunctional grafts. The unchaining mechanisms
are little known. However, it is known that alterations proper of the uremic state and calcium-phosphor metabolism are
important. We present a case of a patient who began with the condition a year before, with Systemic Arterial Alteration
(SAA) background and chronic kidney disease (CKD) secondary to a 4-years evolution pre-eclampsia under treatment
with peritoneal dialysis. It initially showed painful indurated lesion in the inner part of the right thigh, subsequently,
presenting central dermal necrosis. It was performed a dermal punch confirming the diagnosis and complementary
studies.
