ABSTRACT
Several diseases can affect the mid-line structures of the face making it difficult to stablish comparisons and descriptions.
This paper’s aim is to offer a resume of published information.
A number of denominations have been used: mid-line granulomatosis, gangrescens granuloma, medio-facial destructive disease, and others. None seems to be the best acceptable since there are wide variations in etiology, extensions and prognosis. This is the reason why some years ago the name of mid-line destructive syndrome was proposed.
