ABSTRACT
Introduction: the significant increase, at world level, of the illnesses related with the spine, specifically in the cervical region, gave to the task of to investigate and to carry out a study with electric stimulation on acupunctural transcutaneous guided to improve this pathology.Objectives: to evaluate of the effectiveness of the stimulation nervous electric transcutaneous, in patient with cervicalgia, in the CIMEQ, year 2008.
Method: it was carried out a descriptive-analytic study of traverse court, where i take a sample of 100 patients, during the months of July - December of the 2008. This group was subdivided: Patients treated by conventional treatments and patients treated with Electric Stimulation on acupunctural transcutaneous.
Results: the obtained data of the charts gave us a prevalence of the feminine sex and it had their biggest incidence between the 30 to 50 years of age. when comparing both treatments, there was bigger relief of the pain and of other symptoms presented in the tens acupunctural besides that you doesn't present in the same one any adverse reaction that if you presents in the other group of the investigation.
Conclusion: this study confirms that the therapy with the tens-acupunctural is effective and less aggressive or invasive that the conventional treatment.
