ABSTRACT
The luxation of the hip in children is a strange entity except for the congenital illness. In 1932 Hilgenreiner reports the case of a 2 year-old girl with voluntary recurrent luxation without any muscleskeletal abnormality associated, still much stranger entity . From then on to the date, 17 cases have been reported in the literature, which were subjected to different therapeutic modalities, conservative and surgical, with satisfactory evolution in all them.
The present work reports the case of a 7 year-old girl with habitual luxation of the right hip without any muscleskeletal alteration associated to the moment of the diagnosis, to whom was only indicated to avoid the luxating maneuver, with a 12 year-old follow-up developing certain grade of acetabular displasia when comparing with the contralateral hip, but within normal values. Also possible causes and different therapeutic modalities are analyzed.
