ABSTRACT
The skin is the seat of pathologies in renal transplantation patients, many of which are mild, preventable, easy clinical diagnosis and simple treatment, such as superficial mycoses.
Objective: To characterize superficial mycoses more frequent in patients receiving renal transplantation at Hospital Universitario de Caracas from March 1 to December 31, 2009.
Methods: Patients treated at the Dermatology outpatient referrals of Nephrology, after the completion of the interview and physical examination detailed dermatological and clinical picture of skin lesions, samples were taken of skin lesions for direct examination and culture mycological. Data were analyzed with SPSS 12.0 for Windows.
Results: Seventy patients were evaluated renal transplant recipients, of these 29 (41.43%) superficial mycoses representing, onychomycosis was the most common mycosis, followed by pityriasis versicolor, tinea pedis and seborrheic dermatitis. The most commonly isolated etiologic agent for tinea pedis and onychomycosis was
T. rubrum.
Conclusions: We believe that regular monitoring and routine visit patients undergoing immunosuppression is essential for early detection of skin lesions, especially neoplasms and infections, so the dermatologist, you must integrate the medical team responsible for monitoring patients transplanted.
