ABSTRACT
Penile melanosis or penile lentiginosis, a benign acquired melanosis of the mucoses, is an uncommon dermatosis that appears as pigmented macular lesions with irregular borders. Histologically, there is only hyperpigmentation of the basal layer, with no melanocyte hyperplasia. It shares many features with other mucosal hyperpigmentations such as Laugier-Hunziker syndrome. Genital pigmentation may occur as a part of a multisystem syndrome. Malignant melanoma may be ruled out.
We report two cases of penile melanosis recently estudied in our department.
