ABSTRACT
Traumatic elbow injuries account for approximately 15% of annual
emergency consultations. The most common complications are stiffness
and instability. The most common causes of pain are soft tissue
injuries, which may include: tendinitis, tendinopathies, tendon ruptures,
ligamentous injuries, and nerve compression disorders which can be
difficult to evaluate clinically. Clinical experience has confirmed the
usefulness of magnetic resonance in non-invasive detection and characterization
of elbow conditions. A knowledge of anatomy permits a
radiological report with clinical relevance, more effectively providing
information on implications which help define and plan opportune and
correct treatment to prevent complications.
