ABSTRACT

Keloids are predominantly recurrent fibrous tumors, sometime presenting itching, that grows spontaneously or on site of injuries. Usually appear between 10 to 30 years old. The interscapular, presternal region, shoulders, mandibular edges, pinna, and earlobe are the most likely sites of presentation. The etiology remains unknown, but the accumulation of fibrous tissue is associated with increased metabolic activity of fibroblasts and subsequent collagen synthesis and glycosaminoglycans. Many treatments have been tried, but variable success was obtained with single or combined treatments. We present a case report of some cases of relapsing keloids treated with the «fillet flap» technique followed by the intralesional administration of triamcinolone.
