ABSTRACT
Acase of a 52-year-old female with a tumoral growth in the first phalanx of the first toe of the left
foot is discussed. It has been present for several months and it has increased in size rapidly. Clinically,
it was suspected to be a malignant melanoma or a squamous cell carcinoma, but radiological and histological
studies, as well as immunohistochemical findings demonstrated that the lesion was a subungueal exostosis.
This is an uncommon clinical manifestation of subungueal exostosis.
