Granuloma candidósico en un paciente diabético: informe de un caso

RESUMEN
El granuloma candidósico es una infección mucocutánea por
Candida Albicans que se presenta generalmente
en la infancia y puede observarse con menor frecuencia en la etapa adulta. Las áreas más afectadas son
cara, mucosa oral, cuero cabelludo y uñas. El tratamiento más efectivo es anfotericina B.
Se presenta el caso de un hombre de 41 años de edad con diabetes mellitus tipo 2, con dos lesiones nodulares ubicadas
en la región del apéndice xifoides e hipocondrio derecho. En el cultivo se aislaron colonias de
Candida Albicans
y la citología mostró proceso inflamatorio granulomatoso. En la biopsia con tinción de PAS, se observó la
presencia de hifas. Recibió tratamiento con anfotericina B e itraconazol con mejoría de la lesiones y negativización
del estudio micológico.
