ABSTRACT
A review on plamoplantar hyperkeratosis during a year period was undertaken at Ciudad Victoria General
Hospital in Tamaulipas, Mexico. A total of 1,189 files were studied. Twenty-two patients had either plantar or
palmar hyperkeratosis, or both. Twenty (91%) were females and two (9%) males. Most of them were between the
fifth and sixth decades of life. Soles were the most frequent affected area. All patients had been treated previously
with antimycotics. Only five of them showed onychomycosis. There was no family history of hyperkeratosis,
or any other associated diseases.
