ABSTRACT
56 y/o patient with diffuse lepromatous leprosy since age 29 developed fever, lymphadenopathy, and organo-
megaly. She exhibited a painful purpuric patches, multiple erythematous to violaceous macules, involving
with symmetrical distribution all the extremities, that become necrotic and ulcerated and leave scars.
In the beginning, not lesions were noted on the upper body an there was no palmar or plantar involvement. The
mucous membranes did not appear to be involved. On cutaneous biopsy, we observed vasculitic and thrombotic
reaction. Patient did not respond to systemic steroids, pentoxyfilina and dapsone and died later of multi-organ
failure for sepsis.
