Integral rehabilitative manage of the chronic pelvic pain. Preliminary study

ABSTRACT
Introduction: chronic pelvic pain takes place in any place understood between the
diaphragm and the knees, of superior duration to 6 months, not solved by previous
treatments, without relationship with the damage, functional impotence, vegetative
signs of depression, family dynamics damage. Is a complex condition, of difficult
handling; with diagnosis little evidenced and that it is treat symptomatically with
behaviours conservative y/o surgical.
Methods: Study of intervention, quasi-experimental, where physical agents were
used (magnetic therapy, local electrotherapy of low frequency (analgesic TENS), for
the relief y/o the cure of the chronic pelvic pain, being carried out the evaluation for
the subjective references of the patients, the evaluation functional doctor and
physical therapy when concluding the treatment. The instruments of mensuration of
the pain applied: test Short Form McGill, test of vulnerability psychosocial, test in
Ways of confrontation of Folkman and Lazaruz.
Results: 19,65 % of the patients assisted in specialized consultation of pelvic floor
carries chronic pelvic pain, 51 women (74%), 18 men (26 %), age average for both
sexes of 47,3 ± 4,5 years. Of them 11 cured (15,9 %), 25 better (36 %), 18
patients in treatment (26 %) to seven patients was applied them the test Short
Form Mcgill to measure pain, test of vulnerability psicosocial and of ways of
confrontation of Folkman and Lazaruz.
Conclusions: all the patients treaties with therapeutic physique agents evolved
toward the improvement or the elimination of the symptoms, not being evidenced
worsening in any case. The applied pain test constitutes a useful tool in the
evaluation of the patients.
