ABSTRACT
Skin cancer (basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and
melanoma) is the most frequent malignancy in humans. The
treatment of choice is complete surgical excision with free tumor
margins. The method of reconstruction depends on the
site and size of the tissue removed.
We present a 45 year-old female with an infiltrating basal cell
carcinoma on the tip of her nose. We excised it and a large
defect was repaired with the malar butterfly flap achieving our
goals: functionality and good cosmetic outcome.
