ABSTRACT
Furuncular myiasis is endemic in tropical regions and due
to migration it is occasionally reported in urban populations.
We present the surgical finding of
Dermatobia hominis affecting
the scalp of a patient with a travel history to the southeast of
Mexico. Macro and microscopic features are described, as well
as iconography and pathogenesis.
