ABSTRACT
Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) is a complex syndrome with increasing frecuency and a mortality rate of 50%. Tehere is no established treatment and therapy is limited to the management of complications. One of them is volume overload, present in up to 60% ofintensive care unit (ICU) patients. This is often the result of fluid replacement, liquid overuse and underlying illness. volume overload is directly related to organ failure and worsen prognosis. Volume management becomes even more challenging whit AKI, where diuretics, renal replacement therapy (RRT) and conservative approach will change course of the illness.
