ABSTRACT
A chain of events has been mentioned in the development of dentitions related to maxillar hypoplasia. The maxillar colapse of the superior arch could affect the route of eruption of the superior canines. Special attention should be given to patients with maxillar hypoplasia. A clinical case is presented in which maxillar hypoplasia and retention of the permanent superior canines are present, their classification, treatment, results, initial and final comparisons. It has been suggested that patients with maxillar hypoplasia have the potential to have retained superior canines or ectopic eruption of the canines.
