A 72 year old man with uncontrolled diabetes and
hypertension arrives at the emergency room due to
shortness of breath. He’s diagnosed with community
acquired lobar pneumonia and admitted for observation
and empiric antibiotic therapy. Three days
later the patient is found agitated, confused and unable
to recognize his son.
