ABSTRACT
The pre-anesthetic evaluation (PAE), aims to evaluate a patient in order to establish, together with surgeons, benefitrisk
of a determined intervention, propose and initiate treatment, as well as informing the patient and obtaining your
consent in relation to the suggested procedure. The PAE is mandatory and has demonstrated its importance in
clinical, economic and organizational levels. Anamnesis and physical examination are the core of the practice of
the PAE. Complementary tests and the specialized consultations are decided based on the clinical elements and to the
many existing recommendations. The anesthetic medical history sheet should include all the elements of the
evaluation. The correct presentation of this road is part of the quality indicators considered by health authorities
that are applied to the evaluation of health centres. The consultation of anesthesia is a multifacetic activity and a
regulatory obligation. Is to be considered as a major element of the safety of anesthetic care.
