ABSTRACT
The term demodecidosis spans cutaneous diseases caused by
mites of the
Demodex genus, including
D. folliculorum and
D. brevis,
both common parasites of the pilosebaceous units of humans.
D. folliculorum has also been implicated in the pathogenesis of
rosacea and
Pityriasis folliculorum.
This review addresses demodecidosis as a separate entity
from rosacea and assesses proposed eradication therapies.
