Demodecidosis: una revisión clínica y terapéutica

RESUMEN
Demodecidosis es un término que agrupa las enfermedades
cutáneas causadas por ácaros del género
Demodex, entre ellos
D. folliculorum y
D. brevis, comensales comunes de las unidades
pilosebáceas de los seres humanos, particularmente en cara, espalda
y parte superior del tórax.
D. folliculorum ha sido implicado,
además, en la patogénesis de rosácea y
Pityriasis folliculorum.
Esta revisión aborda la demodecidosis como una entidad
independiente de rosácea y evalúa las terapias propuestas para
su erradicación.
