ABSTRACT
Objective: To characterize the academic performance of the Plan "D" students of the Degree in Nursing in the Informatics in Health discipline at "10 de Octubre" Medical School of the Havana Medical University. Methods: A quantitative, analytical, longitudinal and prospective study was carried out from the grades got by the students who took all the subjects of the discipline and who defended the final research report between the courses 2006-2007 and 2013-2014. Factorial, Cluster and Discriminant Analyses were made to detect the current relationships within the evaluative variables of the discipline, to classify the students according to their academic performance and to predict the students' result in the final report respectively. Results: Three main components of the evaluative variables of the discipline were detected: Biostatistics, Research Methodology and Informatics. Conclusions: The results of the study show that as a whole the performance is related to the results achieved in the final report of the investigation in which the acquired knowledge and skills are integrally applied.REFERENCES
