ABSTRACT
Objective: to determine the effect of the ozone therapy in the control of the
factors of risk of the stroke.
Method: was carried out in Service of Quality of Life of the National Center of
Natural and Traditional Medicine a study from January 2007 to December 2009
where it was carried out an analysis of 120 patients with different factors of risk of
presenting stroke. (age, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, level of fats increased in
blood, heart disease) with the objective of determining the effect of the ozone
therapy in the prevention of the stroke, it was divided the sample aleatorily in 60
patients each one to the one that was applied treatment with rectal ozone in an
upward dose for 20 daily sessions every three months until completing four cycles,
more the established conventional therapy for these pathologies and another group
to the one that alone it was applied the conventional therapy, to all they were
carried out an evaluation before the treatment and every three months after each
cycle, the biochemical and clinical parameters.
Results: the results were that the patients that received treatment with ozone
therapy stayed more stable from the clinical and biochemical point of view than the
group control and they didn't present any complication vascular brain.
Conclusions: the ozone therapy applied with the used protocol was useful as
helping in the control of the heart disease, risk of vascular illnesses of brain, in the
other factors of studied waterings, a tendency that indicates exists that it can be
significant but it is required of a bigger sample to determine it. Adverse events
were not presented.
