ABSTRACT
Sepsis, dreaded disease for many doctors, and unknown to most of people, is an entity that affects millions of patients each year; we review the global epidemiology and compared with the few national statistics, as well as the General Hospital «Dr. Manuel Gea González»; the most commonly used predictors of mortality in this patient population are discussed, the main consequences are discussed and their relevance, cost analysis, and the importance of policy initiation and monitoring costs, is the end of this paper.
