ABSTRACT

Beyond many definitions, the acute neuromuscular syndrome or critical care polineuromyopathy results a multifactorial entity with an important prevalence in the Intensive Care Unit. The objective is to present a case of polyneuromyopathy and its hospitalary evolution. It is about a 35 year-old female patient who suffered cardiopulmonary arrest and despite the initial presentation with multiple organ dysfunction and sepsis, got appropriate evolution and proceeds to mechanical ventilation weaning and extubation with failure, after all is discharged with tracheostomy and good general status. The main consideration about this entity unfortunately most of the time is done lately, that is the reason why if the pathology is only suspected, the treatment refers to an intensive rehabilitation, the early as possible… the better results.
