ABSTRACT
Introduction. Multiple advances are known in regard of surgical procedures for Hirschsprung disease. In 1998, de la Torre and Ortega published an
important modification of the Soave technique. This surgical technique is used due to its excellent results.
Methods. A descriptive, retrospective and transversal study, with statistical analysis using Fisher test. We evaluated the clinical and surgical outcome
of patients with Hirschsprung´s disease with transanal endorectal pull-through during the period of 2006 and 2013.
Results. 21 medical clinical charts were revised, 90.5% were males, 71.4% diagnosed before 6 months of life. The prevalent symptoms were: intermittent
abdominal distension 95.2% and first pass of stool 48 hrs after birth 90.5%. 67% where surgically managed during the first year of life. Colectomy and
primary descent was done in 71.4%. No patients presented intraoperative complications. In the first 72 hours, 90.5% reinitiated oral intake and 47.6%
were discharged. 2 patients died of non surgical cuases.
Discussion: Our study reflects the safety and efficiency of this technique. We displayed that this technique offers an excellent approach for patients
with Hirschsprung disease
