ABSTRACT
Low back pain is defined
as pain localized below the
margin of the last rib to the
inferior gluteal region, above
the inferior gluteal lines with
or without pain in the lower
limbs. Low back pain is one
of the most common causes of
disability, with economic and
social impact, being a major
cause of absenteeism. The
90% of cases are non-specific
and the remaining 10% for a
specific disease. It gives more
in age between 30 and 50 years
and the prevalence increases
with age. Pain occurs by the
action of nociceptive receptors
and release of inflammatory
substance. Factors such as age,
sex, genetics, labor, obesity,
physical activity, sport and
work influence the genesis
of pathology. The diagnosis
includes a questioning focused
physical examination and
use of medical imaging. The
approach of low back pain
include pharmacologic and
nonpharmacologic treatments
such as manuals, physical and
invasive.
